Seiad Valley Guide service is located approximately mid-stream on the Klamath River in Northern California. Although our home base is in Seiad Valley we go where the fish are, fishing the Smith, Eel, Mattole and Sacramento rivers during specific times of year, depending on weather, river conditions and the bite.

Our custom built Willie Jet Boat and Drift Boat are both equipped with tops and heaters. There is no reason to be uncomfortable while fishing in any weather condition. The idea is to enjoy yourself. Right?

Klamath River Fishing

If you have never been to the Klamath River in Northern California you are in for a real delight. The Klamath River area is one of the most beautiful and pristine areas left in California. The splendor of this steep mountainous region is indescribable. The run of salmon and steelhead are returning in historic proportions. Seiad Valley's location provides accessibility to a large portion of the river with a minimum of driving time. This river is consistently a high class act. It combines tranquility with the heart pounding excitement of having a steelhead rip out your line to the backing. The salmon season is fast and furious, last years clients complained that their arms got sore from bringing in so many big ones.

Our seasons on the Klamath are:

	Spring salmon on the lower river from the jet boat: Early May thru early July Trout fishing on the upper Klamath near Iron Gate dam - fly fishing and conventional tackle drift boat: May thru July.
	Fall salmon and steelhead on the lower river fly fishing for steelhead - jet boat: Early August thru mid October
	Fall steelhead on the mid and upper river fly fishing and conventional gear - drift boat: Mid October thru April

Smith River Fishing

Come to the Smith for some truly trophy class salmon and steelhead fishing. The Smith river boasts the state record for steelhead if you want to land the biggest fish in your life, save some time in December through March.

Eel River Fishing

The Eel River too is a beautiful stream winding through giant redwoods. Along with these big trees are some of the largest salmon and steelhead you will find in California. The season there is December through March.

Mattole River Fishing

The Mattole is also known for trophy class steelhead. Plug fishing on this stream can give you some of the most exciting fishing you'll ever experience. These fish are here January through March.

Sacramento River Fishing

Trout fishing near Redding is a year round fishery. We can fish here either from the drift boat or the jet boat. Fly fishing or conventional tackle. Starting in mid-March the striper fishing starts above the delta. This is also a very popular fishing adventure. When these fish enter the river to spawn, they come in great numbers. This action goes from mid March till late May. Fishing from the jet boat.

The salmon fishing on the Sacramento River is some of the best in the world. This season usually starts mid July and goes into the winter months. Fishing from the jet boat.

Shad fishing has become a real popular sport. These silver sided fish are known as fresh water tarpon. Although not that big they are pound for pound one of the best fighters on the west coast. These fish on a fly rod are a handful. They are usually in the river June and July.

Tips:

Book Early! Weekends and Holidays fill up fast.
Bring your California Fishing License and punch cards (salmon or steelhead)
Bring warm clothing and rain gear.

Rates:

Jet boat fishing is $200.00 per person with a two person minimum. 

Drift boat fishing is $200.00 per person per day, two or more persons. Single person is $300.00 per day.

A fifty percent deposit is required to hold your dates.
